I’ve always had an interest in working with my hands. Though jobs in construction were not like they used to be in my area, I found a wonderful green jobs training program at the community college. Though it took less than a year to complete, the curriculum is very intensive.

During the day we cover theory which combines science, green lifestyles and waste management. During the day, we visit a number of companies to do a tour of the facilities. Our daily homework is to write a 500-word report of our findings and what could be done differently based on what was taught in the classroom.

I’m looking forward to the second part of the program which is construction where we learn how into install solar panels for residential and commercial properties. We have also had a number of green collar workers come out to speak to us about future opportunities.

For every dollar that I have spent as an adult, I like to make sure that it goes to good. Whether it is something I enjoy or will go to help someone in need, I like to spend my money wisely. When it came to having a reliable hosting option, I went with green hosting.

For one, many people in my area were getting internet service and it seemed like no matter how many upgrades I got, my service was never fast enough. So I began going to the library down the street to check my email and do a little web surfing. At least if the server went down, I didn’t have to pay for it.

Since making the change, I have been more than satisfied with the service in general. Now that I am retired, I may start my own blog so that I can make extra money on the side.
