So Many China Attractions to See
Wednesday, January 25th, 2012
Growing up I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to live in Hong Kong. At the time it wasn’t possible to visit mainland China but it’s something I have always wanted to do. There are so many China attractions to see I’d have to make a good list before I went otherwise it would be hard to know where to start. The most obvious choice for me would be the Great Wall of China and is probably top of anyone’s list. Who could resist going to visit a structure like that which is even visible from space! Another attraction I would love to see is the Harbin Ice festival in Heilongjiang Province. Due to the below freezing temperatures they are able to carve the most amazing ice sculptures and even ice buildings. These are often lit by neon lights and from what I have seen in pictures it seems absolutely magical. Those are the two I would visit first but there are so many more as well.

The Island of Hawaii
Sunday, December 11th, 2011
People who have explored the island of Hawaii are also interested in learning its history and their government. And with people frequently coming back and forth Hawaii, knowing when did Hawaii became a state is just one of the things tourist learn during their stay in this pristine island.
It was June 27, 1959 when a referendum asked residents of Hawaii to vote on the statehood bill. The people of Hawaii voted 17 to 1, in favor of Hawaii to be changed from territory to state. The option given was to accept the Act or to remain a territory, without the option of independence. Thus, the people opted to be the 50th state of the United States. It was U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower who signed the law that the congress passed as the Hawaii Admission Act.
The island of Hawaii is definitely worth coming back to. It’s not just the beaches and the volcanoes, but it’s also the history and culture that are making this state rich.
